Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.87% of the population. The racial makeup of the township was 95.97% White, 1.20% African American, 0.03% Native American, 1.78% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.35% from other races, and 0.59% from two or more races. There were 1,894 housing units at an average density of 121.1 per square mile (46.8/km 2). The population density was 366.4 inhabitants per square mile (141.5/km 2). Īs of the census of 2000, there were 5,730 people, 1,823 households, and 1,421 families residing in the township. The average household income was $62,000. In 2010, the population was 6,414 people. The Lewisburg Armory was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The township is home to Bucknell University, which lies mostly in East Buffalo Township and partly in the Borough of Lewisburg. The population was 7,421 at the 2020 census.
